Optimize the planning and sequencing of picking orders through simulation
Activities and Tasks
- 3D modeling of the logistics warehouse in FlexSim: orders and departure time, type of orders, stocks and their location, lay-out, warehouse systems, material handling systems, processes-tasks and times (inputs and location, replenishment, picking and preparation of orders, …), picking strategies (FIFO, order by order, by zones and consolidation, …), criteria for assigning tasks and orders to people, personnel profiles, number of people and shifts, installed capacity, …
- Through optimization algorithms, define the sequencing of work orders that maximizes productivity by complying with the departure time
- Validation of the model-simulator as the daily planning tool
